The importance of following changes in business computing and technology can be more important than time to time because your business grows. As a professional too often, I have seen many small businesses get too far behind in computing computing and wondering why they have to pay an upgrade. Usually I have to explain to them in a difficult way that the current computer system that is more than 4 years old will not do the tasks requested very well and are not supported by the software. It is usually done to collect software changes and incompatibility with longer software and hardware platforms that cause problems. I explained that it would actually cost more money in the long run to try and maintain existing computer equipment and then buy a new replacement.
Most small businesses fail to recognize that keeping very long computer equipment can cost more money to maintain the system, the price of replacement. One cost is the amount if the money you pay for replacement parts when there is no warranty on the old device. If the computer, server or printer is made by a certain manufacture then there is a good chance that you have to go back to them for certain parts that can be very expensive. Another problem is that they actually don’t make a replacement part for the unit break, this is a worse case problem I’ve ever seen even though sometimes you can find vendors that make the same part and hopefully it matches properly but not always.
Another disadvantage is if your business operates on slower slower computer equipment that takes customer demand in customer’s request and this might open the door for your competitors to stay away from you, but offer better service. If your competitors reinvest there business computing and technological changes, it is likely they will have the ability to complete the product and ask for faster and at a cheaper level. Advance technology will be charged your money in advance but if the right equipment is purchased and utilized in the office can add to all your business.
Some benefits can include lower power requirements for devices, more storage capacity for computer files, CPUs that are enhanced along with memory that speed up the process running on computers, faster and higher-quality documents than new printers. Less time down and less delay in completing customer demand. These are just a few benefits to technology in your business.
